Vistas of Manitoba
Concert Band Level 0.5
4/4 time, 3/4 time, Bb Major.
Vistas of Manitoba is a three-movement work for very young bands. Each movement can be performed separately or as part of the suite. All parts are playable by musicians who have learned the first six notes of the concert Bb major scale, as well as one or two others (mostly low concert As, and a few concert Gs, and all are developmentally appropriate for building skills in the students).
This suite was born out of a perceived need for VERY EASY music for beginners. Taken together, the entire suite is a level 0.5 difficulty piece, and if performed individually, the pieces are easier than that, with the first movement being a GRADE 0.25 difficulty.
This grade 0.5 concert band work was inspired by various hiking trails in Manitoba, and features three movements:
Pine Point March - an upbeat march in Bb major,
Bois-des-Esprits - a mysterious waltz
Turtle’s Back Loop - a fast closer in 4/4 with something for every0ne.
Perfect for a first concert or a festival!
